“€œFLOCK” Art Show Opens in Santa Fe This Weekend

“FLOCK” Friday, May 23 – Sunday, June 8, 2014.

I am honored that my Santa Fe art gallery representation, Giacobbe Fritz Fine Art on Canyon Road in Santa Fe, NM, asked me to participate in a two-woman show… Camille Engel realism bird paintings hang with watercolorist, Mary Alayne Thomas in “FLOCK”.

Birds are an integral part of my life and work. Surrounding my woodland Tennessee home are several birdbaths and bird feeders that attract a menagerie of wildlife. We live near the lake, so our feeders are also visited by unique flocks during migration, and we take lots of photos. With my oil paintings, I typically paint a single bird and hone in on its intricate colors, features and personality, while Thomas creates whimsical paintings. Our two styles of bird paintings complement each other, as you can see in these photos posted by the gallery.
